Mil-Spec Nylon Webbing
Tubular nylon webbing is smooth, soft, thick, and hollow in the middle. It can be used by itself or as a protective covering for cable, tubes, hoses, shock cord or etc. The single warp yarn (the “dashed line” down the middle) is only visible on one side.

MIL-W-4088 nylon webbing is very flat and smooth and slightly stiff due to resin impregnation for abrasion resistance via MIL-W-27265. Perfect for edge binding and high wear areas.

MIL-T-5038 nylon webbing is an ultra-lightweight, very thin ribbon (or tape) material useful for edge binding and as a finished outer layer.

As viewable in the above “Misc Webbing” image, there are a few odd-ball types of webbing available that we do not have, or have not been able to find the exact specifications for.
1) 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) Olive Drab Nylon Tow Strap, with single yellow warp stitch. As the name suggests, this is a repurposed tow strap.
a) Unknown breaking strength, likely in the thousands of pounds though.
b) Thickness:~0.175″ (4.4 mm)
2) 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) Olive Drab Cotton Cargo strap, with dual red warp stitches. As the name suggests, this is a repurposed vintage cargo strap.
a) Manufactured approx 1960’s
b) Unknown breaking strength, though likely ~2000 lbs (~900 kgs) though.
c) Thickness: ~0.18″ (4.6 mm)
d) Maximum unbroken length available, ~15′ (4.6 m).
3) 2″ (51 mm) OD Nylon. This feels like seatbelt material.

4. 2-1/4″ (57 mm) Black and White Nylon Tape. This more of a very thin tape, or textile than webbing.
a) Unknown manufacture date, but is decades old, made in Sweden.
b) Unknown breaking strength, though is surely low (less than 100 lbs (45 kgs).
c) Thickness: ~0.012″ (0.3 mm)
5) 2-1/2″ (63.5 mm) Black Rubber Nylon Cloth. Mil-Spec MIL-C-14505B.

Mil-Spec Cotton Webbing
MIL-T-43566 cotton tape is a lightweight, soft, flat, plain weave and meant for reinforcement, finished edging, or etc.

MIL-W-43638 vintage treated, heavyweight cotton webbing is a blend for strength and low elongation (anti-stretch). Excellent for bags and other high demand or high use applications where it might be exposed to the elements, but the softness and/or appearance of cotton is still desired.

MIL-T-5661 cotton webbing it thin tape and textile that was originally manufactured to reinforce aeronautical equipment, but it still perfectly usable to reinforce apparel, gear, bags, or other items.

This woven polyester-elastic webbing is a multi-purpose elastic material which is thicker and stronger than regular braided and knit elastic, commonly used for suspenders and belts.

This sew-on Hook and Loop nylon fastener tape is used for a wide variety of applications where a temporary bond is required and in many applications including military, sporting, equestrian, health care, apparel, and gear.
